Our Story

Two friends.
One heritage.

Teriya wasn't born in a boardroom. It was born over phone calls home, kitchen experiments, and the question every immigrant eventually asks: can we share this here?

A glass of bissap with hibiscus and ice

From Conakry, with care

Bissap was the first welcome we knew.

In Guinea, hibiscus wasn't a wellness trend — it was the drink passed across living rooms when a guest arrived. Slow-steeped in the kitchen the night before, sweetened just enough, finished with mint or lemon depending on whose grandmother was steering the pot.

We grew up tasting different versions in different homes. Tart, floral, warming, bright. None of them were the same. All of them were Teriya — friendship in a glass.

"We're not selling a drink.
We're sharing a memory in a bottle."

The kitchen experiments became a brand.

We started making batches for friends, then for friends of friends. The bissap kept tasting better. The ginger started showing up at events without being announced. People asked where they could buy it. We didn't have an answer.

Teriya is the answer. Small batches, traditional methods, no shortcuts. Bottled in San Francisco. Poured wherever you need something a little more particular than what the cooler at the grocery store has on offer.
